Noticed distinct odor in entry way and cockpit. Both pilots encountered headache while present in the cockpit. I am not a mechanic and do not know why the event occurred.

Title: An A319 Captain reported a headache resulting from an electrical odor in the forward galley and flight station during preflight so the aircraft was removed from service.
Narrative: Noticed distinct odor in entry way and cockpit. Both pilots encountered headache while present in the cockpit. I am not a mechanic and do not know why the event occurred.
