Narrative:
Aircraft X was on a K fix routing and I issued an alternate K fix for traffic. It took about 45 seconds of trying to understand and read back the clearance to get it right and then 30 plus seconds later aircraft X advised me that that fix was not in his database. I then issued a turn and proceeded to get separation. The fixes should be thrown out; they are unsafe and confusing.
