Narrative:

AC90 inbound to coe airport on a vector. I descended the pilot to 6;500 ft; the MVA in the area. The pilot read back 6;500 ft. The pilot descended below the MVA; la la went off. I climbed the aircraft immediately back up to the assigned MVA altitude of 6;500 ft. Recommendation; use proper la phraseology. I was caught off guard and told the aircraft to expedite a climb back up to the MVA. Make sure to advise pilot they descended below assigned altitude; which was below safe altitude for terrain in the area.
