During cruise phase; ATC communicated confirmation of weather deviation via cpdlc. Crew responded to ATC with our intent to deviate. [It was] determined possible miscommunication occurred with our route on FMC. Further cpdlc concluded agreement on deviation. Flight continued on course without issue. I was not on flight deck at the time. I was in crew rest area on rest period.
