Narrative:

We arrived at gate and shutdown engines. I never received a call (or non-verbal signal) from the ground crew that the wheels were chocked. I called ramp to advise. Once again; the ground crew did not follow SOP for gate arrival. It is due to insufficient training. It happens at almost every departure or arrival that at least 1 of the new procedures is not followed. The thing that is most concerning to me is at least every other ground employee I talk to is unfamiliar with all of their procedures. I tell them what is supposed to happen and I get answers like 'I didn't know that;' etc. This is totally unacceptable and more training is needed.
