Narrative:

I accidentally turned off the APU after starting engine #1 and did not realize it when we single engine taxied. During engine start I knew something was wrong because the itt was slow to start and then continued to increase beyond a normal temperature for start. I pointed this out to the captain and he had me shut it down well before reaching the maximum itt for engine start. All engine parameters were normal during and after the 2nd start. I should not have turned off the APU after the first engine start. From now on; I will make sure that both engine's are running before turning it off and I will double check that the APU is running for all engine starts. I am a new first officer with 100 hours in the erj and my captain was still green.

Title: A First Officer with less than 100 hours in type shut the APU down after starting engine 1 and then; while starting engine number 2 without APU air; noticed the ITT rise rapidly so the green Captain commanded the engine shutdown.
