Narrative:
I checked out a grease gun tool for compliance of job assignment. I kept the grease gun checked out for daily utilization due to the job requirement. I was unaware of keeping the grease gun would violate any fars or maintenance procedures manual (mpm) procedure since it was not a calibrated tool. The tool was returned to the hangar tool room at a later date.

Title: Mechanic reports he checked out a grease gun from their hangar tool room for compliance with his job card. He continued to use the gun on a daily basis as part of his job assignment. He was later informed he may have violated company Maintenance Procedures Manual (MPM) and FARs.
