Narrative:

After the landing gear was selected down; it was noted that the hydraulic pump did not activate as it should. Hence; the left and right main landing gear did not lock into the down position until the standby switch was selected momentarily and returned to the normal position. This action resulted in a normal gear operation allowing a continued normal approach and landing without any further abnormal activity. At no time was there any question that the action stated above would result with any other out come than a normal gear operation.
