Narrative:

On the terps departure; we were deviating around a buildup just east of wonce. The company in front of us had deviated to the opposite side of the buildup and was coming around on the back side of the buildup as we were coming around the south side of it. We hit some good turbulence right as we were leveling at 17;000 feet and potomac was asking us to turn for traffic. The PF slightly missed the level off in the updraft and we floated up to 17;200 feet. Descended back down to 17;000 feet and the rest of the flight was uneventful. Climb with the autopilot on and use cws-right to turn and deviate. Use the autopilot to level the aircraft off.
