Narrative:
[Weather was] cloudy; 1;500 ft; about three miles; light rain; wet runway; thunderstorms in area. [There was a] five to six knot tailwind. Applied power; all was normal; got to point on the runway where I should have had my 85 KTS rotation and I was at 72; so I shut it down; full reverse and brakes. Airplane skidded on wet runway and overran departure end by about 100 ft. I shut down and called flight service on my cell and called to report on unicom of my problem. I noted minor prop damage and right main wheel (which had no external damage) was making a noise with each rotation when I towed the airplane back to my hangar. I have not yet determined what needs to be done with the right main. I think the tailwind may have become stronger from the time I last checked the wind on AWOS before I taxied out.
