Narrative:

Medium large transport X had to be pulled off localizer due to traffic ahead. Had already flown over 75 mi in my airspace. Controller on other side of localizer was busy. I turned the medium large transport X toward a gap, trying to get other controller to slow aircraft behind, and/or stop descent. No response. Finally instructed other controller to turn his aircraft, medium large transport Y, off localizer. Aircraft turned slower than expected. Finished working in traffic, then reported incident to supervisor. 2 aircraft came within 1 1/4 mi and 500'.
