Narrative:

Approximately 20 minutes to departure; with APU providing air conditioning; a flight attendant reported 'smelly socks' and/or 'scorched' smell from emergency exit row extending into the aft galley. I shut off APU bleed; then called maintenance and started to gather information as I did not notice the smell. The flight attendant in the aft galley confirmed odor. I completed odor form made entry in fdml. After discussion with crew; mechanics and dispatcher; we decided best course of action was to remove passengers and crew while maintenance was troubleshooting and we switched aircraft for the flight. All weather and aircraft configuration were reported on odor form. One flight attendant reported a headache. No other known crew or passenger issues.
