Narrative:

A B737 stopped at FL350 for traffic handed off to sector X. I called to point out the B737 to sector X; sector X started flashing an A320 to me at FL350. Sector X said the A320 was 20 left to go behind the B737 and approved point out. I climbed the B737 to FL380; aircraft took a while to start climb. Sector X switched the A320 to me in my airspace; I then realized the 20 degrees left turn was not working and turned the A320 additional 15 degrees left; then told the B737 again to climb to FL380 and turn 20 left and report out of FL360. It appears separation was lost at about 4 miles and 500 ft. Don't trust the controller will put an aircraft on a heading that will work.
