Narrative:

We prepared the cabin for an emergency landing. Captain notified us that the right engine was not operating correctly and to prepare the cabin for an emergency landing. We were returning to the departure airport [island destination] and we had 30 minutes. We prepared the cabin/passengers per the emergency checklist. While going down the checklist we discovered that there were no extra life vests on board. We were able to use the non-occupied crew jumpseat life vests for the infants. Passengers were briefed and prepared. We landed safely without incident.
