Narrative:

Upon liftoff; 'right engine fuel filter' EICAS displayed. Climbed to safe altitude; completed QRH procedure which stated; 'proceed to nearest suitable airport for landing.' [we] sent numerous ACARS messages to dispatch with no response. [We] completed QRH overweight landing procedures and briefings; returned to ZZZZ for overweight landing. Contacted dispatch via personal cell phone. Completed all required logbook write ups and communicated with dispatch; local maintenance; and local airport operations personnel. Completed an aircraft walk around to insure everything looked normal.
