Narrative:

The left engine removal work card stated to only remove the drain mast from the removed engine if clearance was required to install the engine on the shipping stand. There was adequate clearance without removing the drain mast. Therefore; this work card step was not applicable. Also; this work card step was not an rii. Since we did not remove the drain mast from the old engine; we also made the step not applicable on the installed engine work card. This work card step was an rii item; which I signed as 'not applicable' (north/a). We did not properly verify that the new engine had a drain mast installed.
