Narrative:

Canada (drummond sector) called with a non-automated hand off on a flight of 3/F15's on a vector. I asked for the equipment qualifier and the drummond controller said 'tango uniform;' which is not a qualifier. When I questioned him; he said it might be different from canada to the us. I accepted radar contact; started a track on the 3 F15s. I told the radar controller to verify the equipment qualifier. An F15 said he was 'slant india'. I entered the code into the flight plan. A few minutes later the F15s and a B737 were flashing conflict alert about 30 miles apart. The radar controller and myself both evaluated it. We spoke about the flashing. I stated that it may be from three in the flight. The radar controller issued traffic. I don't recall a coral box that indicated non-rvsm. Recommendation; I recommend that the same equipment qualifiers be used between canada and the us. I also believe that it would be helpful if the drummond controller would have coordinated a non-rvsm aircraft.

Title: Enroute Controller described a Conflict Alert event involving a flight of military aircraft being transfered from the Canadian ATC system to the US; noting the confused 'qualifier' (slant) designators between the two ATC systems should be corrected.
