Narrative:

I was working ground control. There were two aircraft on final and one holding short of runway xxr. I coordinated to cross runway xxr with aircraft X after air carrier Y which was the second aircraft on final. I crossed aircraft X after the departing aircraft and before air carrier Y. The asde-X alarmed and the local controller sent air carrier Y around. I was not aware of my mistake until the asde-X alarmed. This was unfortunately a plain and simple mistake. I was apparently not paying attention to my entire work environment. I should have looked at the stars radar or even out the window at final before I issued the crossing clearance to aircraft X. Instead I just saw the aircraft roll by and issued the crossing clearance. I was allowing a developmental to mark my strips and notepad; so I was standing back from my podium and not in my usual ground control position. This probably was part of the problem; but no real excuse.
