Narrative:
While descending for approach to the runway at approximately 200 KIAS and 6;000 ft I called for flaps 15. My partner selected flaps 15. Slats extended and flaps failed at approximately 2 degrees with an amber 'flaps fail' caution message. We complied with pilot's abbreviated checklists. We declared an emergency and changed to the longer runway. [I] also notified passengers of circumstances [and we] landed without further incidence. Emergency personnel were waiting for us and followed us to the FBO. Just like the simulator but easier; we had a 25 KTS headwind for landing.
