Narrative:
I was leaving for a part 91 flight home. After listening to ATIS and getting information x-ray; which stated they were using runway 29; I taxied to the runway via taxiway a which leads to runways 29 and 24. There were several aircraft in the pattern and tower radio traffic was very congested. When I was cleared for takeoff another aircraft talked over the tower and I only heard the last part of the transmission which was 'cessna XXX cleared for takeoff'. Runways 24 and 29 share a common threshold and I was expediting the takeoff; as it turns out I lined up on runway 24 instead of 29 and took off on the wrong runway. After gear was up the tower personnel told me I took off on the wrong runway. In the future when there is congested radio traffic I will slow down and make the extra radio call to confirm the runway; plus a runway alignment check will be performed.
