Narrative:
During configuration for the landing we went from flaps 1 to flaps 5 and got an EICAS te flap disagree message. We were with tower; declared an emergency; executed a go-around and accomplished the procedure in the QRH. We were vectored back for a visual; configured the aircraft and landed uneventfully. We relayed the problem to maintenance control after landing and placed a write up in the log book concerning the event.
