Narrative:

On my first leg of IOE (initial operating experience) the check pilot captain was demonstrating how to trim the 747-400 and when we tried to enter right rudder trim we got no right trim response from the trim switch; however left worked normally. We continued the flight without any more inputs of trim to the left. Continued without any further problems and landed at destination.
