Changing the slide for 'time'. Final step; while pulling inflation bottle safety pin; slide blew inside the compartment without the actuators operating. Slide blew. There was no other factor that I know of at this time.

Title: Two Mechanics and one Inspector report about a B767-300 right-hand Overwater (Off-Wing) slide bottle discharging during removal of the Inflation Bottle Safety pin.
Narrative: Changing the slide for 'Time'. Final step; while pulling Inflation Bottle Safety Pin; slide blew inside the compartment without the actuators operating. Slide blew. There was no other factor that I know of at this time.
