Narrative:

Pilot was unable to fly the RUUDY2 departure in FMS mode in the proline 21 equipped hawker 900XP. RUUDY2 selected in the 'FMS mode' for takeoff. Tower advised us that we were 'off the SID' and to correct immediately. We corrected and were vectored on course to destination. No conflicts were noted by the crew or ATC.I believe that the FMS was slow to compute the commands for the procedure selected. Recommend that all proline users fly the SID in manual mode until initial turns are completed.

Title: The Flight Management System installed in the Flight Crew's HS-125 was unable to fly the RUUDY SID from TEB.
