Narrative:

Just prior to the landing flare, aircraft experienced loss of airspeed and excessive sink rate. First officer advanced throttles and rotated nose up. Aircraft T/D on runway on main gears and tail. During final approach, widebody transport was cleared to taxi across approach end of 08L--southbound. Wind was reported to be about 060-10 KTS. Widebody transport was taxiing slowly and tower advised widebody transport to expedite taxi, as we were approaching short final. In my opinion, a combination of wind shear and the jet blast from the widebody transport that went northeast of the runway, drifted back across the runway; which we entered while still airborne, caused a loss of lift and airspeed.

Title: TAIL STRIKE DURING LNDG WHEN FLT ENCOUNTERS WIND SHEAR.

Narrative: JUST PRIOR TO THE LNDG FLARE, ACFT EXPERIENCED LOSS OF AIRSPD AND EXCESSIVE SINK RATE. F/O ADVANCED THROTTLES AND ROTATED NOSE UP. ACFT T/D ON RWY ON MAIN GEARS AND TAIL. DURING FINAL APCH, WDB WAS CLRED TO TAXI ACROSS APCH END OF 08L--SBND. WIND WAS RPTED TO BE ABOUT 060-10 KTS. WDB WAS TAXIING SLOWLY AND TWR ADVISED WDB TO EXPEDITE TAXI, AS WE WERE APCHING SHORT FINAL. IN MY OPINION, A COMBINATION OF WIND SHEAR AND THE JET BLAST FROM THE WDB THAT WENT NE OF THE RWY, DRIFTED BACK ACROSS THE RWY; WHICH WE ENTERED WHILE STILL AIRBORNE, CAUSED A LOSS OF LIFT AND AIRSPD.
