Narrative:

Approaching howdy on the CQY6 arrival into dfw we were given a vector of 300 degrees and a decent to 3;000 ft. The clearance was subsequently altered to proceed directly to huten for the runway 36R approach. At about 3;300 ft; (approximately 7 miles southeast of huten); approach control announced that we had triggered a low altitude alert and directed us to climb to 4;000 ft. We immediately climbed to 4;000 ft. We were subsequently cleared to 3;000 ft and cleared [for] the approach.
