Narrative:

I allowed a flight of two F16 aircraft to enter the nhk restricted area without a hand-off. I did switch the flight to the proper frequency so the next controller was talking to them; however; I did not flash a data block to the controller; nor did I attempt a manual hand off. Recomend more self-awareness of the status of aircraft data blocks. Make sure the next sector has a hand off before switching the aircraft.

Title: A ZDC Controller described an unauthorized airspace entry event when radio communications was transferred to the next sector but no hand off was accomplished.

Narrative: I allowed a flight of two F16 aircraft to enter the NHK restricted area without a hand-off.
