Narrative:

Aircraft departed and called back on local radio with a gear disagree. Crew ran QRH - says land nearest suitable. Captain consulted maintenance via radio. Captain/dispatcher/maintenance concurred on air return to the departure airport. I was in the process of documenting air return. Flight coordinator rebuilt flight prior to my documenting release with note - 'air return to departure airport due gear disagree.' after rebuild release unavailable to amend. I mistakenly thought the rebuild by coordinator would take longer and I would have time to document.

Title: A CRJ200 Dispatcher reported that a flight crew declared an emergency for a landing gear disagree light and was returning to the departure airport when the dispatch release documentation was amended for the air return. The premature air return documentation prevented rebuilding the release.
