Narrative:

Bur cross left.a. 24 DME at 8000', maintain 10000'. At 24 DME we began a slow climb to 10000'. We spotted an aircraft same altitude approximately 2 mi away. Skies were clear, visibility excellent, no conflict to our mind. Left.a. Became very agitated when we pointed this traffic out and they claimed we were not climbing as assigned. At that point we were at 8500' and climbing.
