Narrative:

During a training flight in the traffic pattern; there was an unexpected encounter with some light freezing drizzle that froze on contact. We quickly informed tower that we needed a full stop and landed safely. We filed a PIREP after the flight with FSS. We were surprised at how quickly the ice accumulated. We were only in the freezing drizzle for fifteen seconds; yet it was enough to lightly coat every leading edge surface (wings; horizontal stab; vertical stab; prop spinner) with light rime ice. It seems that the forecast today was wrong because it did not warn of any icing hazards until four hours later.
