Narrative:

We lowered the gear as we were switching from approach to the tower. We got three green indications as well as three red indications. I quickly conferred with the captain who was the pilot flying; and we agreed to leave the gear down; go-around; and figure out exactly what happened. We told the tower we had a gear issue and they instructed us to fly over the tower and they would look at the gear. They said it appeared all gear were down. We switched over to approach and got vectors so we could get into the QRH. Initially we had some weather issues as there were some lower tcu clouds were just off the departure end. After coordinating with approach to get an area that would keep us out of everyone's way and clear of the weather; we got into the QRH. We agreed we had an unsafe gear indication and ran the QRH checklist. I ran the checklist while the captain flew the aircraft. Upon completion of the checklist; we were able to get three down and locked. We came in for another visual approach with no issues. We taxied to the gate and were met by maintenance.

Title: B737 flight crew experienced an unusual gear indication when it is extended during approach; with three green and three red lights. After completing the QRH procedure for this indication; three green lights were received.
