Narrative:

The flight departed normally; but climbing through 7;000 ft we had 'weather fail' warning on the weather display. Shortly thereafter 'weak return' displayed below 'weather fail.' due to enroute weather and other weather forecast at destination we conducted an air turnback. The flight did not get above 10;000 ft therefore dispatch was not contacted. We did quickly call station operations to let company know nature of problem and our intent to return. No emergency was declared and the flight landed safely.
