Narrative:

We experienced a right generator failure just prior to being vectored to the runway 1C final approach course. That degraded the aircraft status to a single generator operation since the APU generator was deferred. An ACARS message was sent to dispatch and dispatch responded that maintenance control had been advised. Upon arrival I did not follow-up with a computerized discrepancy report; since dispatch had been notified and maintenance had been advised. I later received a phone call from maintenance for further information since a the report had not been received. Thinking that maintenance had been notified I thought the electronic log book had been updated.
