Narrative:

We had just landed on runway 9R at ord. We were taxiing on weight north and told to hold short of runway 32. After holding short the controller told us to 'turn right on runway 32 and take victor to the ramp.' I began to taxi onto runway 32 when straight ahead we saw what appeared to be a taxiway. However; the taxiway was not marked and there were red signs on either side with white circles with white lines through the circle. So I turned onto runway 32 as instructed; but soon after turning it became clear that there were no other taxiways that led to the ramp...and as we were head to head with a B777; I make a quick 180 turn and we made a right onto what we suspected to be taxiway V. It was victor; but the only markings we saw was a 'V' painted on the ground at the ramp entrance for aircraft taxiing the other way.
