Narrative:

Had a left hydraulic quantity decreasing on descent to our destination. Accomplished the QRH procedure; declared an emergency and landed uneventfully. Fire/rescue inspected the exterior of the aircraft and found nothing amiss so taxied to the gate and terminated the flight.

Title: A MD80 Captain reported the left hydraulic quantity decreased while in the descent for landing. An emergency was declared and after landing Airfield Rescue and Fire Fighting inspected the aircraft before taxiing to the gate.
