Narrative:

During takeoff roll a helicopter was observed descending and converging from left to right towards our intended flight path. Our rotation was done slower than normal and an immediate right turn was initiated after lift off to avoid the apparent converging path of the helicopter. Our aircraft passed within approximately 150' to the right of the helicopter. No traffic advisories were issued by the tower. The helicopter appeared to be operating a lot closer to the runway than normal.
