Narrative:
While we were on short final (500 ft AGL) to runway 12 at mia; tower cleared a B757 for takeoff on runway 08R. At approximately 150-200 ft AGL we encountered his engine wake turbulence I landed the aircraft uneventfully. This could present an unsafe situation in the future; especially if the 757 were a larger aircraft or we were a smaller aircraft. I don't believe this is the normal procedure at mia; however; and just wanted to help ensure it doesn't happen again.
