Narrative:

Departing from sna on the MUSEL6 departure; dag transition; with the autopilot off and navigation captured to the FMS; the FMS began a 'smart turn' before musel intersection well prior to the intersection itself. The clearance and departure route description off 19R reads 'maintain runway heading or isna localizer south course to isna 1 DME fix or sli R-118; turn left heading 175 degrees for radar vectors to musel intersection.' the magenta course needle flipped to 330 degrees to intercept the course from musel to sli approximately one mile prior after takeoff and in the turn to 175 degrees. If followed; or with the autopilot engaged this would have been a clearance deviation. Do not engage the autopilot and follow heading on chart instead of flight director; or fly green needles. Change in database needed to make musel intersection a flyover point for all transitions.
