Narrative:

We were flying left hand traffic for runway 8 at burlco airport (uncontrolled) in an small aircraft at 800' AGL. Abeam traffic we had been watching approach from southwest was letting down. We dumped nose to avoid a collision. Recovered at 500' AGL and continued pattern to a planned full stop. Watching for traffic observed same aircraft now approaching at a high rate of speed from the northeast, obviously intent on landing on runway 26. We were already rolling out. My intention to clear the runway was changed when it became obvious he was going to land on us. Added power and flew to right of runway and cleared bldgs and trees at east airport boundary. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following: the reporter provided more precise miss distances. He said that the airport is about to go to the developers and is all but abandoned. No mention was made of unicom use.

Title: 2 SMA'S FLYING OPPOSITE TRAFFIC PATTERNS HAVE NMAC ON DOWNWIND AND AGAIN AFTER 1 LANDS.

Narrative: WE WERE FLYING LEFT HAND TFC FOR RWY 8 AT BURLCO ARPT (UNCTLED) IN AN SMA AT 800' AGL. ABEAM TFC WE HAD BEEN WATCHING APCH FROM SW WAS LETTING DOWN. WE DUMPED NOSE TO AVOID A COLLISION. RECOVERED AT 500' AGL AND CONTINUED PATTERN TO A PLANNED FULL STOP. WATCHING FOR TFC OBSERVED SAME ACFT NOW APCHING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPD FROM THE NE, OBVIOUSLY INTENT ON LNDG ON RWY 26. WE WERE ALREADY ROLLING OUT. MY INTENTION TO CLR THE RWY WAS CHANGED WHEN IT BECAME OBVIOUS HE WAS GOING TO LAND ON US. ADDED PWR AND FLEW TO RIGHT OF RWY AND CLRED BLDGS AND TREES AT E ARPT BOUNDARY. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING: THE RPTR PROVIDED MORE PRECISE MISS DISTANCES. HE SAID THAT THE ARPT IS ABOUT TO GO TO THE DEVELOPERS AND IS ALL BUT ABANDONED. NO MENTION WAS MADE OF UNICOM USE.
