Narrative:
The certified professional controller (cpc) at the radar position was trying to miss another guy; but didn't understand my 5 prompts to do something about the GA who was also a factor at fl 290. I told him 5 times to do something different; but he zoned out saying it'll work; but not until conflict alert went off did he understand about the GA I pointed to as a factor. In the end we had maybe 4 miles and 600ft. I am not sure if the alarm at the front desk went off or not. The cpc was; in my opinion; tired and needed to get out of position; plus he was on 1 hr of overtime. Recommendation; get the cpc out to take a break to refresh. We had tons of weather swaps; deviations; and requests; the controller needed a break.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ZFW assistant controller described a loss of separation event by the R-Side; noting repeated hints were given to the controller pointing to the developing conflict; adding fatigue was a definite factor in this event.
