Narrative:

We lined up for takeoff on runway 21R at dtw; tookoff; and turned to our assigned heading of left 190 degrees. In the turn we got a EFIS dis con and dg indicators on both sides and at that time; on our assigned heading; ATC asked us what heading we were given; we told him 190 and he came back and said that our navigation seemed to be slightly questionable. We told him we were having a EFIS mis con heading navigation issue and we were correcting at this time and I asked if it was an issue; he said no. Well on runway 21R in dtw there seems to be an anomaly that affects the heading as you take off and I guess that the best thing to do is depart in the dg mode to keep from the EFIS mis con. I think this problem should be looked into as there are other crews that have had issues in dtw that we spoke to from other air carriers flying the crj.

Title: A CRJ200 First Officer reported a track deviation after departing DTW Runway 21R because the aircraft's heading system malfunctioned and indicated EFIS DIS CON. The Reporter believes a metal mass near the runway's end may be a factor.
