Upon takeoff; odor started to permeate cabin. Passengers rang call light expressing concern about 'smoke and burning' in cabin. Back flight attendant called forward to report concern and said odor was electrical. Forward flight attendant confirmed odor in forward cabin as she was coughing and passengers were coughing. Reported to cockpit who said they would 'pass it along.' after landing; a hydraulic fluid leak was confirmed. It was being watched for 3 legs.
