Narrative:

Upon aircraft start the cabin pressurized and was uncomfortable so I turned on the emergency cabin dump switch. I failed to turn it off. During climb we received a cabin press light on the cwp at 10;500 ft. We leveled at 12;000 and while the first officer (the pilot monitoring) completed the checklist I was cleared to and descended to 10;000 ft. While completing the non-normal checklist I realized that I had not returned to emergency cabin dump switch to off. Once this was selected the pressurization returned to normal.
