Narrative:

Several aircraft slide replacements have taken place since the newly revised maintenance operations manual. We at ZZZ inspection are still looking for an official reference on whether the inspector accomplishing [verifying] the [slide] installation checks needs to hold the T&Q qualification in his [personnel] records. ZZZ already has one inspector with his rii qualifications removed for this very task. I have found several issues and many references stating yes and no; which just adds to the confusion of this situation. We have asked management several times for an official reference; e-mail or letter stating not required. The only response has been word of mouth.
