Narrative:

Just prior [to] the push back we had an indication of a 'nose gear in transit light' and the gear warning horn sound. We call maintenance to fix the problem; they did. After departure and during the climb out we notice that the light was back. We call maintenance control and after explaining the issue; we decide to return to the departure airport after we burn the excess fuel and fix the problem. We informed the flight attendants and the passengers and after we land we swaped airplanes and departed.
