Narrative:

Air carrier X requested direct bce. I issued it and when I entered it in uret; it was somehow entered as direct lemnz; a fix on the arrival into las after bce. I did not notice this and it was not noticed until the aircraft was near bce when that controller realized that air carrier X was not going direct to bce. Recommendation; double check computer entries. It is possible that the slew ball is wearing out to the extent that as I slewed over to hit enter it changed my entry from bce to lemnz. They do seem to be getting more touchy as they are wearing out.

Title: ZMP controller described mistaken route entry was made via the URET equipment and not passed on to the next controller.

Narrative: Air Carrier X requested direct BCE.
