Narrative:

The newly adapted LYNDI2 arrival has two fixes that sound similar over the radio. Kumba and cucca. These fixes get mixed up by the pilots quite often. I issued an aircraft; cross cucca at and maintain 12000. The pilot read back kumba at 12000. I corrected the pilot and there was no issue. Recommendation; I recommend that cucca be renamed to something that doesn't sound like kumba on the radio. This arrival was processed without much input from the controllers in the actual area and we immediately identified this as a problem. There was a discrepancy sheet in the area that the controllers wrote down when pilots said kumba instead of cucca and it had dozens of reports.
