Narrative:

Similar sounding call signs. In an area; a military squadron uses the call sign kattxxx. Recent change to 7340.1 contraction manual approved civil air patrol to use capxxx as their call sign. When these aircraft are on the same frequency or same sector they cause numerous radio exchanges to clarify control instructions. Recommend either military squadron or cap change their call sign. This occurrence happens often (potentially several times a day) in this area due to high concentration of military training.
