Narrative:
Reference our procedures manual: mechanics will perform checks; but not inspections. I was directed to assign a general mechanic to accomplish an inspection job card for an engine wire harness inspection. This is the second time in the past six months that I have been directed to assign a mechanic to perform this inspection; at that time I also filed a report about the directive. After talking with my manager and union representative and telling them that I had reported about this item; quality assurance (qa) inspectors accomplished the card.

I was directed to assign a General Mechanic to accomplish an inspection job card for an engine wire harness inspection. This is the second time in the past six months that I have been directed to assign a Mechanic to perform this inspection; at that time I also filed a report about the directive.
