Narrative:

We were on intercept leg for localizer runway 27R. Just as we got case break on the localizer; we encountered the previous jet's wake turbulence which was not abrupt; but felt like going over a large wake in a boat. The autopilot did a good job keeping the wings nearly level; and we rode up; then a little bank; then down; then a little bank the other way and out of it in 3 seconds and intercepted the localizer. At no time were we anywhere near an unusual attitude nor was aircraft control ever a concern. We proceeded to land normally (crosswind on final - we intercepted from the downwind side) and noticed a B747-400 turned off ahead of us. After deplaning the flight attendants asked what the bump was before landing. One of the flight attendants remarked that she actually lost her balance and fell to her knees in the business class galley. We immediately asked if she was alright. She laughed it off and said yes. The purser asked her if she thought she should file a report - she again said no and that she was fine and nothing to worry about. She proceeded to the layover hotel.
